VPS Upgrades
Just upgraded my Linode 360's RAM to 450mb for an extra $5 per month. This should - hopefully - put an end to the numerous disk IO spikes and out-of-memory crashes I've been having lately.
Banana Me Crazy

Orange "You Glad For Change" Cola
Bought from a 7/11 in Downtown Vancouver.
Mmm... Baracky. It was well worth the $2.50 CAD.
Everything is better in 1080p
So, earlier this week my motherboard and LCD finally came. The ST2410 is looking very good so far (expect a detailed review at some point).
As for the motherboard... it appears that I did not in fact damage the other one. After switching mobos, the same issue I was having persisted. Since Newegg charges a 15% restocking fee + shipping, we've decided to keep the spare mobo and build another computer with it. This means that I might be able to upgrade my lowly AMD Athlon II x2 250 to a Phenom II x4 965 BE! =D (fingers crossed)
Happy Holidays
Been busy with Christmas/New Year's things so I haven't been able to do much work on anything. My second semester at SFU also starts on Monday, so I probably won't have much time to do side projects for a while.
Here are a few of the things I received for Christmas:
Dell ST2410 24" LCD - $220
Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H - $100 (to replace the one I fried >_>)
Ikea Kaffe Coffee/Tea Press - gift
... and some cash.
I also bought quite a few games during Steam's Annual Christmas Sale that should last me through the new year:
- Audiosurf
- Crysis
- Crysis Warhead
- Crysis Wars
- Darwinia
- Defense Grid: The Awakening
- Garry's Mod
- Max Payne
- Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
- Multiwinia
- Osmos
- Portal
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
- Shattered Horizon
- Torchlight
Expect to see reviews in the coming months.
Note: The LCD and motherboard still haven't arrived yet, so technically I haven't "received" them. The mobo is supposedly in Redmond, WA. while the LCD is still "in transit in the U.S.". They are being shipped by UPS and Purolator respectively.
