Finally upgraded my dated P4 3.0ghz and NVidia 7600 GS!
Here are the specs of my new machine:
- AMD Athlon II x2 250 AM3 @ 3.0ghz – $70
- Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H – $100
- Antec Sonata III w/ 500w PSU – $120
- 4gb (2x2gb) of OCZ Ram – $95
- Powercolor Radeon HD 4870 – $150
Grand Total: $535 ($609.90 after 14% tax)
I haven’t done much heavy GPU things yet, but in Guild Wars (running at max settings/resolution/aa), I get max FPS. =D
For the time being, it’s running Windows Vista x64, but later on, I hope to get Archlinux up and running.
