I haven’t had much time lately to work on gmail-notifier, however, this small update should be beneficial to those who’s connection drops intermittently or who’s internet connection isn’t established before gmail-notifier.py starts.

Thanks for this useful program, but I’m having problems starting gmail-notifier.py 1.6.1 with the computer (using Ubuntu 10.04, ethernet: system->preferences-> startup applications don’t work)
